Smoking Policy

James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, Tampa

Since the hospital is dedicated to keeping you as healthy as possible, smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building.

Smoking is permitted only in those specific areas outside the hospital buildings that are designated for smoking. This is a safety issue, too; many fires have been started in hospitals by cigarettes.

Education and treatment related to smoking cessation is available to those veterans requesting assistance.  For information regarding smoking cessation, ask your health care provider.
